Life Update. I got a job in Germany.

 Hey blog fam,

Trust this meets you well. I know, I know, I promised that you will hear from me at least once a week but here I am apologising cos its been really busy on my end, trying to juggle writing my thesis, being a wife and mom, working, yeah, I got a job, more on that later.

I celebrated my birthday on the 9th of this month. So grateful for life, health, good friends and everything in between. God is so good.

I would like to talk to you about something real quick. Listen, I classify you as my close friend and so I decided to share one of my top tip which has been working for me.

It's called scheduling. If you are like me that tries to do everything at the same time or discover that you have not been able to finish what you have on your to-do list, then this is for you.

I discovered that as seasons come and go, I always have to rearrange my tasks from most important to least important and even have to set alarms for these task, if not, they might not get done on time or at all.

If you follow my on Instagram (why not? I think you should), you would know that I have been trying to getting back to working out regularly. I discovered that it is quite different from before I had my baby. I first thought that going to the gym will solve the problem. I then discovered that I have to block out about 1 hour and half to go to the gym and workout. That was not bad until I started working this month and discovered that I might have to move my workout to midnight. yes, you heard me.

Since I work in the mornings, I have to wake up early, take care of my family, drop my baby at the kita, all before 9am so there was no way I was going to be able to block out 1 hour and half before school drop out by 8am. So I moved my thesis research, prayer and communion with God, and my workout to after my baby's bedtime. With this, I am not at a rush to finish as against mornings when I am constantly checking my time.

I know that this might change in the coming weeks or month but unlike before, I am open to changing this around as season changes. I mean, I wouldn't have agreed to a night workout before I had my baby. I believed everyone could get a morning workout but oh was I wrong. Thank God I saw the light early cos I kept beating myself up for waking up up and not able to squeeze my prayer time and workout in before my baby wakes up. It was either one or the other and of course I would do my morning devotion and leave out my workout, hereby feeling bad I was not able to workout in the morning.

One thing I notice is that, what you don't nuture cannot grow. This year, one of my objectives is to spend time looking after me.

Now, onto the good news, I got a job!!! (leaping for joy). I have always wanted to work since the day I stepped my foot in Germany. I mean, I was a working class, big Lagos babe before I followed man to Germany, lol. I got the job offer as a Data Scientist in February of this year. However, we already had plans to travel to Nigeria and so, I told my employer I will resume in May when we are back from our vacation and so I resumed this Month.

Its a long story and even good news upon good news of how my company got bought by a bigger company.

If you would like me to share the journey and process of how I got a job, please let me know in the comment section.

Talk to you soon, I promise.

Evelyn
