My name is Evelyn Olalekan-Elesin. I am a Nigerian currently living in Germany with my family. I am currently studying for my Master in Scientific computing in Berlin. I share lifestyle, work mode and mom content as an expat in Germany with my family.I also have a YouTube channel where I share how to live, study and work in Germany here:
The reason why I share my journey as a foreigner living abroad.
Trust your week is going on well.
Mehn, this week and indeed the year is traveling fast, like it's already the mid week of the first week in March. Not to put pressure on you but just to put it into perspective.
Hope you are doing well? I mean, mentally, hope you are in a good space? Do well to take breaks at intervals as much as needed too.
Now, something I noticed as a Nigerian living abroad is that I could not find peoples' experience of living abroad as people travel and then you are left to wonder if they are thriving and happy with the decision they made.
This is the reason why I started my YouTube channel to share my journey with you and carry you along. It is definitely not for show off but to show to people especially you who intend to travel out of Nigeria someday so that you don't have to start from scratch.
So, my husband and I shared on this video (link below), how it has been with us as a couple, living, working and schooling in Germany.

Also, good news(drum roll). After getting lots and lots of messages about people having difficulty going through the admission process, I started consulting and rigorous breakdown of the process of admission to schools in Germany. I have been doing this for a while and so I decided to share with you guys here in case you have anyone who is in need of such help.
Please do so to reply to this email if you have questions and also remember to subscribe to my channel and also drop a comment on the video.
In 2017, I joined my husband, who moved to Germany for work, 3 months before me. I had experience in Sales and Marketing in a financial institution and so I started the job search almost immediately. I later decided to study for my Masters after getting to know the immense benefit of studying in Germany which I will share with you in this blog post. There are different types of of University in German. The first one is called a normal German universities (Universität in German), the second is called University of Applied Science (Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften in German) and the third one is called Academy of Music, Art and film. The main difference is that, Universities are a research driven institution and they focus on theory more than practical whereas the university of Applied Science focus on application of research. So, if you are looking to study courses like engineering and courses that are really hands-on, University of Applied sciences might be what you want. On
If you are a new mom, sleep is one of your major concerns right now and I want you to know that you are not alone. Majority of babies who sleep through the night in the first few weeks are minute and are exceptions compared to the babies who do not which is normal. I will like to share my story to encourage you that sleep is not linear and it gets better. Since birth, my baby never slept through the night. Instead, he wakes up every hour in the first few weeks and then moves every 2 hours. I later learnt that this was due to the fact that he is exclusively breastfeeding and so once it is time to move to another sleep cycle, he needs to breastfeed as that is how he knows how to sleep. I wasn’t getting enough sleep at night and even during the day. I then started looking for solutions because it was really getting to me and almost driving me insane. Also note that due to the pandemic, our parents and family couldn’t visit so it was just my husband and I. My husband works from home and I
Hey blog fam. Welcome back. Glad to have you here. So today, I will be sharing how I get productive as a mom schooling and working from home. I am currently studying for my Masters degree in Berlin, Germany. I have a 1 year old son who is super active and always on the move. He is yet to start creche and so he is mostly home all day. My husband on the other hand, works from home due to the pandemic and is mostly in meetings. So due to this, I am left with myself to run around with my son. Having a child is a totally different phase as one has to also combine it with life’s goals and ambition. I decided to find a way around this as the days are turning into weeks and weeks into months. Coming up with a productive schedule was the only way to make sure I got things done. Another reason why I had to come up with a productive schedule is because, before now, my son will take 3 naps during the day and so I had time to go back to lectures I missed and also do other things. However, as he gre
